Societies and Organisations
Irish Astronomical Association (IAA), founded 1974 with member from both Ireland and the UK. A monthly lecture programme (Sept.-Apr.) is held at Bell Lecture Theatre in the Physics Building, main campus, Queen’s University, Belfast.
Northern Ireland Amateur Astronomy Society (NIASS), founded (?). members meet monthly at Ballyclare High School Lecture Theatre, 48 Rashee Road, Ballyclare, Antrim & Newtownabbey (NIR BT39).
Ulster Astronomical Society (UlAS), short-lived astronomical society (1890-4), based in the City of Belfast.
