Cahill, Daniel William (1796-1864), born in Artless, he was a Roman Catholic preacher, lecturer, writer and educator. He taught astronomy in Ireland and lectured there and in the United States which he visited in 1859. He died in Boston, Massachusetts (ODNB).
Kelly, Patrick (1755/6-1842), born Stradbally, Queens County (now Laois), Ireland, the son of a local landowner who moved to England in 1775 (see County of London; ODNB; Obit., GentMag, 172).
