Rait-Kerr, Helen Margaret [nee Metcalfe] (1887-1965), born Co. Kildare, Ireland who developed an interest in astronomy. Author of ‘Starry Heavens’, an introductory astronomy text in 1913, Enfield, Co Kildare, Ireland. A member of the meteor section of the BAA, she is mentioned in section reports No.3 & 26 (JBAA, 22 (1912), 309-11; JBAA, 25 (1914), 126-30). After marrying Rowan Scrope Rait-Kerr (1891-1961), in 1916, her interests refocused upon natural history and ornithology (Obit. Irish Naturalist Journal, 15 (1966, 217).
