Astronomy Groups

Bassetlaw Astronomical Society (BstAS), founded 1976 with member from Retford, East Sheffield, Mansfield and Worksop. Members meet at Gateford Park Primary School, Amherst Rise, Gateford Park, Worksop (S81 7RG).

Mansfield & Sutton Astronomical Society (MaSAS), founded in 1970 (see history page) its first meeting was held  Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire attended by 12 people to encourage astronomy, for both beginners and the more experienced.  The members meet at their Sherwood Observatory (NG17 5LF).

Nottingham Astronomical Society (NotAS),  originally founded in 1921 under the chairmanship of Mr. W. Malin Hunt and later in 1946 the society was re-established.  It has an observatory housing a 24-inch reflecting telescope and meet at Gotham Memorial Hall (NG11 0HE).
