Chestefield Astronomical Society (CAS), founded around 1960. Members meet regularly at their Barnett Observatory at Hastings Cl., Chesterfield (S41 8RH). The observatory with a lecture hall, houses an 18-inch reflecting telescope.
Derby & District Astronomical Society (DDAS), Founded 1974. Members (50 – 2018) meet monthly (1st Fri.) at Friend’s Meeting House, St. Helen’s Street, Derby. Observing meetings are held at their Flamsteed Observatory at Brailsford.
Ilkeston & District Astronomical society (IDAS), founded (?). Members meet monthly (2nd Tues) at Hayloft, Erewash Museum, Ilkeston.
Matlock and Darley Dale Observing Group (MDDOG), founded (?). Members meet monthly (1st Mon) at Wheatley Rd, Two Dales, Matlock (DE4 2FF).
Rosliston Astronomy Group (RAG), founded by Peter Bolas in 1999 to encourage and educate the public about and viewing of the night sky. Members (40-2016) meet and observe at the Rosliston Forestry Centre, Rosliston, Swadlincote (DE12 8JX).
White Peak Astronical Observing Group (WPAOG), founded (?). Members meet to observe from the National Stone Centre, Wirksworth, Porter Lane (DE4 4LS).
